Customize a Rom

Hi!
If I have 2 custom roms, can I take just the dialer and the browser from one copying the .apk file in system/apps from a zipped rom to other one?

And how can I recognize the dialer in the apk list?

And if I don't want to install an preinstalled app, can I just remove the .apk file from the rom's zip?

I'm pretty sure this is not possible because of coding. I've tried something like before. I was kind of making a ROM salad using Root Explorer and my PC. Needless to say, it didn't work. There may be a way to get a fkadhanke version of the apks you want though. Just keep searching.
