ok not been asked yet or not seen it

I HAVE A HTC HERO

1.Ok was wondering how i could customize the notification bar and drop down i am using sense rom and was wondering if be possible to have the controls for wifi brightness Bluetooth ect at the top like i have seen on some of the other roms.

2. are there any other cool customizations people could tell me about that would look cool and unique :p

Quick settings is as close as I can think of.

The drop down toggles seem to only be for certain ROMs like CM, I'll keep an eye out for one though

if drop down toggles can be on certain roms is there any reason why the code for it cant be put onto a sense UI rom

from what I've seen, most if not all of the ROM's with drop down toggle functions are Sense-less ROMs.

Not sure why though. Either way it seems like it isn't a function you can add in via an app, but rather needs to be built into the framework.

I think this would be a question to ask the dev of your current ROM.

As for question two, you might want to add what ROM you're running. Different ROMs have different ways of customization.

There's a small free app on the market called Bar Control that lets you put persistent shortcuts to any app on your notification bar. I use it with 2 apps called Toggle Wif and Bluetooth Mode to give me quick access to wifi and bluetooth from any screen. Works with stock rom on N1.

try widgetsoid. it's free.

outstanding app with a very responsive and attentive developer.

here's a thread where the last few posts are discussing an option that puts the toggles into your notification area. you can hide the switcher from your home screen, and it will only show in the notification area. you can toggle on/off from there and through a pop-up (it looks as though the pop-up will be an option on the next release based on feedback).

Using Bar Control for a system setting like brightness or wifi seems like too many taps...

If you just want a brightness controller in your status bar, check out InvisiBright.

For a wifi toggle, just add a home screen widget.

For everything, there's always Quick Settings :)

Ah but with a widget you have to be on the home screen to toggle.
And Bar Control + Toggle Wifi = 2 taps to switch wifi on / off, against 3 for Quick Settings surely.. :D
