customizing individual items???

[saigondjatusa]

is there a way to customize individual items within a ROM? SAys you want to swap just the keyboard from CM7 with VU or swicthing text font between 2 different ROMs.

i've tried various ROMs, but none satified me 100%. Thy're all "gain this but lose that" type of compromising deal you know

You can change keyboards even without using ROMs, and you can change fonts without using ROMs. You can do both (change keyboard and change font) without even rooting. So I'm not sure I'm getting the drift.

You can download different keyboards from the market. Some of the launchers allow you to change the font too.

Perfect Keyboard for example.

there's also Better Keyboard 8 from the amazon app store.

For changing keyboards, from homescreen you go menu>Settings>locale and text>select input method. If the available keyboards are not what you like, go to the market and download what keyboard you may like.

For fonts, its in settings>display>font style. If you want another font, you'll just have to install one. For Galaxy S phones, this is done via the Fontomizer app, free from the market.
