Root CWM backup from one phone to another

My wife's marquee on boost is one of the problem ones. I've ran ct mod and megatron and have experienced lockups when trying to reboot, intermittent high current drain on the battery. (suddenly gets hot and charge gets depleted). This is usually when an attempt to reboot fails requiring a battery pull. I love these custom roms and can't say thank you enough to the developers!
That being said. I've acquired another marquee. I've rooted and flashed cwm on to it. Can I either restore a cwm backup from the old phone to the new one the way it is or can I flash the rom she's running now (megatron) and do an advanced restore - restore data? (She hates it when I put a new rom on her phone and loses her call log, sms, logins etc etc... I tried this with a prevail and got stuck in a boot loop but thanks to odin I was able to recover it. I believe this was due to different gingerbread versions and possibly different kernels as well. Suggestions?
BTW, the goo server is presently offline and I can't download Megatron.

yes you can ... just nandroid backup frm the frst phone and then transfer the backup to your pc... then transfer the backup file to your phone... go to cwm recovery... go to advanced... backup n restore... select the file
i did this with my brothers phone

If you use Titanium Backup, you don't have to lose any of the sms /dialer history, etc. They can all be recovered from Titanium. You just have to make sure that you do a backup just before flashing, so the most recent history is backed up.

What about to stock recovery

As long as your stock recovery is rooted then you'll be able to restore the apps with the Titanium Backup folder on your sd card. All the apps from a previous backup will remain on the sd card as long as you don't wipe it.

If you plan on wiping the sd card and reformatting it then you'll need to copy the Titanium folder to your pc before doing so. Then after you've made all of the changes, just install the Titanium app to the phone and it will create a new folder on your sd card. Hook the phone to your pc via the data cable, copy and paste the Titanium folder to your phone that you had saved on your pc. When transferring it back to your sd card, just choose to overwrite it when
prompted. You may need to reboot the phone in order for Titanium to read the new apps that have been written to the sd card. Reboot the phone then open Titanium. Open the settings tab in Titanium and select the batch optio. Then just choose the apps you want to restore.

PROFIT! :D
