CWM for Venture

nayrej

Newbie
I have been trying to flash the ICS ROM to my venture to no avail (error message is something like e certification denied). I have read so many threads my head is spinning! The phone is rooted, verified per Root Checker. I installed ROM Manager, but the Venture is not listed as one of the supported devices. Is there a different recovery app that does include the Venture? What to do now?

u dont use rom manager at all for the venture. have u actually looked aat our recovery thread? have u successfully installed cwm recovery yet? if so, the rom u downloaded may be corrupt. have u tried to redownload the rom or download a different rom? if u r getting the error msg about signature verification, use the toggle signature verification option in cwm before trying to flash the rom. im pretty sure the ics rom is signed tho, so sounds like a corrupt download to me.

I have not successfully installed CWM recovery...when I attempt to push flash_image via adb, nothing happens. When I use the terminal app to flash the CWM recovery file, it doesn't recognize that either.

Very nicely done. I appreciate your assistance...very succinct. I was able to update and move forward. Thank you again.

Glad to be of assistance.

Was my method as easy as I said?

Worked on the first try w/no issues?

I'm glad I went w/the 'not mean' response lol :p

I am also glad you chose the not mean route as well. It did work on the first time; the only caveat was the ICS keyboard kept giving me an error message. I installed a different keyboard from Google play--it's working wonderfully! Thanks again.

ya, the ics rom is still under development. the keyboard prob still needs fixed. its a known issue.

Can I get rid of the Google search bar? It is pervasively on every screen. When I click it, it doesn't even go to Google search! I can live with it, but it would be better gone.

IKR!!! it doesnt even flipping work! and neither will using the magnifying glass hard button...come-on :/

yea, it works with go-sms too, but id like to just click it from my home page to search the web/my phone for what i want...like it usually does. :/

you can set it to search your sd-card...which makes it very easy to find music
