Root CWM V5.0.2.8 for MMX A87

Hi Guyz!!! I'm a perfect noob here...
Kindly someone help me in understanding what is cwm and how to use it in our phones. :)

I have successfully rooted my phone...I know what rooting is and it's use ;) but no idea about how to flash, fast boot, recovery etc..

I have wfs which has support for ics as well as jb, none of them are smooth or bugfree as Gb. So it will be better to think about bug less i.e Rom with all things functional.
 
pliz can u give me a guide to flash my a87 with cmw...m newbe dnt av much knowledge... and i nedds ur help.... i av rooted my phone bt avnt been able to flash cmw
 
check the thread for flashing stock recovery...pretty much the same procedure..in fastboot command use the exact file name of the recovery image...thats all
 
ok ahl give that a try........ and last nyte i moved some root apps to my memory card..... nw phone does not boot........so hope installn the factory zip will work right

hey itzmiandy i have brought my mmx a87 lately and i want to install a custom rom in it can u plz tell me the procedure, i have rooted my phn and dont know much about android dev, plz help me out.

search the forum
there is a sticky for rooting method
keep a backup of stock recovery + rom + rooted rom
then install cwm
make a nandroid backup using cwm

wait for a custom rom....

all articles are in this forum itself :)

Hey itzmiandy first of all thanks for the CWM recovery ... and yea you did a great job ... I flashed the recovery to my MMX a87 .. its working great ... but as you said you solved the sd_ext thing .. but m still getting the error .. except that everything is working fine ... or may be i have the old version .. but i downloaded it 2 days ago .. from here only ...

Yea SD-EXT prob is fixed...

Check if your SD card has enough space..

Delete any backups that you may have and then try to backup again

Backup your SD Card, format it and then try to do backup - It will work
 
Actually I have used EXT4 formatting ... hope that doesn't do any wrong ... yea will try to backup my SD contents and then again format it btw for info only .. is there any app for baking up the SD-EXT in .tar ? ..to make things easier for now ..

Press the volume up button to keep scrolling.. Once you reach the last option at the bottom, keep pressing the button and you will go to the first option.. continue scrolling and once you complete scrolling thrice, You will see the text "Back button enabled". Thats it. You now have a working CWM...
