cyanamodgen rom

Personally I've never tried cm on my s3 as I like some of the features that are only available on Samsung based roms. The fact that they are only nightlies puts me off a bit as well as they will contain a few bugs.

If you let me know which version of the s3 you have I'll move this over to the relevant all things root forum:)
 
go with the new 1/8 AOKP Task & Ktoonsez ROM extremely stable with tons of cool 4.2.1 features
 
while cyanogenmod is nice, AOKP and LiquidSmooth are kangs that take those mods to the next level, so I'd recommend those
 
As an alternate opinion, I use CM10.1 nightlies and while it can occasionally be interesting like when we lost data, it is still a very good ROM to play with and has a number of good features as well.

I think it is worth a try for you but make sure you backup so that you can have something to revert to if you have a problem or just don't like it.
