Root Cyanogen 7 problem

Having flashed Cyanogen 7, I was very happy, until I realised that I had something of an annoying problem, only exacerbated by the fact that apparently I'm not allowed to post on the XDA thread concerning this matter.

My phone no longer rotates its screen. At all. All of my auto-rotate settings are ticked, but nothing is happening. Anyone got any ideas about how to rectify this problem?
 
I'm runninf CM7 RC1 as of yesterday and it works fine for me.

Minor issues:

Skype needs o be installed via a separate apk
Same with google maps
GPS doesn't work on some phones.
 
I always do a full wipe before a flash, but I'll do it again tonight, just to see if that works. Won't take too long. I'll let you guys know how it goes. :)

Google maps is a deliberate omission to save space, I guess the same is true for skype, I for instance would never use it!
 
Another thing I noticed is that my battery drains a LOT faster than with Oxygen. I used the phone without WiFi or 3g connection and the battery dropped 45% in only 5 hours. I don't have this problem with other Cyanogen ROMs.
 
Yeah I switched to Gingervillain now after I read some of your posts and like it so far. No issues yet, and pretty much every option CM offers is included. I haven't set up apps2sd, but that won't take long. just need to copy my SD content first.
 
It's an experience reported by some who have tried cyanogen after or before one of the alternatives

Have seen a few posts around by people who have noticed it, buy couldn't confirm myself as I haven't tried cm
 
Might be worth trying an Eviollet kernel to see if it works. Better for me than gv kernels
 
On an unrelated note, how to you change the shortcuts at the top of the notification bar? Like where it has the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/GPS/and sound setting shortcuts, you could change them in CM 6.1 but I don't know where they are in CM 7
 
@ SUroot. 7000 posts? Two miles stones in one week! I suppose you have much to do now the Rastaman has gone quietly. Is he on Holidays?
 
Its been quite quiet lately on here. Not sure where all my posts are coming from.

Rastaman is around, i saw him post yesterday or the day before in another sub forum.
 
I had recently flashed cyanogenmod 7 on my HTC desire.

Since then, i am not able to mount my sd card. (can't be detected).
Also my pc doesn't detect my phone, only charging.
I cannot get my phone in recovery mode too...

Please HELP !!! :confused:

Start a new thread, and tell us exactly what happens. My first instinct would be to wipe and reflash.
