Root Cyanogenmod 11 test

Hi vovakessler,

I moved your posts from the other ROM thread into this one that you created so that the original discussion doesn't get derailed. :thumbup:

Let me know if you have questions or would like some help with reorganizing this thread. :)
 
Same here from earlier, that other ROM from the other post was similar to the one that was being worked on earlier

The updater-script is the same as the cm11 jimsmith80 released several months ago. Otherwise no clue.

One reason the installation aborted is that the ROM is packed incorrectly. All the ROM files are in a directory that is zipped. If you unpack the zip and then zip just the things inside the directory, it might at least install.

OK.. There was a folder inside a folder with same names. Inside the second folder was a System folder, boot.IMG, and file_contexts, & META_INFO... I selected all but META Folder and re-zipped them. Still aborts on flash

you need the META-INF folder. That is where the updater-script and update-binary live ;) Zip everything inside the second folder and it MIGHT install

Installed but gave me black screen
 
I've got a little free time again, so I'm going to make another attempt at cm11. No promises and no ETAs but I hope that having an official KitKat build to play with will help to smooth out the issues I was having. Wish me luck. I'll update when I have something

You da man Jim. It"s great to see you working on this. I bought the new Sharp phone Boost has and gave the Warp to my son. I"m going to see if he will swap back, I am not really impressed with the sharp crystal.
