Root Cyanogenmod 7.1 or Miui?

I rooted my phone a while ago but unrooted once stock Froyo came out. I'm now looking to get a Gingerbread-based rom. I saw that Cyanogenmod 7.1 just came out, but I'm a little wary about the poor battery life (a big concern for me). I've also heard that Miui is very good. I'm going back and forth between those two.

I've downloaded Cyanogenmod 7.1 (is it better to download the nightly or the stable version?), but what is the newest version of Miui - I've done several searches but I've gotten varying results.

Also, what would everyone suggest is the better rom? I know it comes down to personal preference, but I'd like to hear everyone's personal opinions and why they like it. Thanks.

Edit: I said "not looking to get a Gingerbread-based rom"...I met "now looking"

I haven't run MIUI, but CM 7.1 seems pretty nice so far. I've been running 7.1RC1 since it came out. All in all, I don't find the battery life to be terrible. I get about a day on a charge, and I do quite a bit of web surfing.

The only issue I have with it (and this applies to MIUI, too) is that there is no USB audio out. If you want that, you will have to stick to a GB rom based on one of the leaked firmwares for the Captivate.
