Root Cyanogenmod 7 insufficient storage?

Newbie
So I'm new to rooting. I love it so far. I have cm7 on my desire, however when I try to install apps over about 1mb I get the insufficient storage error even though I have about 150mb of onboard and 7gb of sd space available. Please helpme fix this error. Thanks.

I've had that on stock desire and it was down to low internal mem but you seem
to have enough. a bad install maybe?

The Desire has about 150MB of total internal space. How much do you have available? I'm guessing less than 10MB. You should have about 60MB free after you flashed, so I'm guessing you've installed several programs already. Either you can remove programs to make room, or you'll have to play with apps2sd+.

I just went through this on mine. With CM7, the easy solution is to download and install S2E from the market. You'll have to have the SD card properly set up, which will erase everything on it.

interesting. am I going to be in trouble with cm7 then as I've not gparted mine yet? :-\
I normally have 45mb plus free on other roms which is ok for me

CM7 (and more or less any other rom for that matter) will only give you more space for apps if you either :

- Re-partition the internal memory to take from \system space and give to \data. You need to be S-Off for this
- Use you SD card with an EXT partition to fool your phone into thinking its got more memory. Using A2SD+ or DATA2Sd etc

CM7 does not do this automatically so its not the solution to memory problems on its own.

cool. just found that cm7 can force any apps to sd :-) nice.
just cleared another 5mb. 40mb free now

Err whats PI forum ???
went into the settings and I have external ticked, some move and some don't :confused::confused: I thought I could "force" all apps to SD, seems I can't, or, do you have to have your SD card partitioned........ mine isn't

no worries. similar tag to someone on a different forum :-)
well I can't say for sure that it will allow you to move all apps but
it certainly allowed me to move some that I couldn't before.

another nice cm7 feature - single press of search button for 3rd part app - rather than long press for app - nice
