Help Cyanogenmod

Hello everyone, so this is my first post and I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea about Cyanogen mod?

I currently have Android version 4.0.3, and I wanted to root my phone to Cyanogenmod. But I have absoultely no idea how to do that or what Cyanogenmod version I should download (7 or 9 or idk). I am also a complete noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I've never rooted my phone before.

I apologise if this is in the wrong section (I don't really know where I should post this)
