Root (D321) Remove Carrier label from Status Bar

Spz0

Android Expert
For those running Crickets D321 build number D32110c, here's a modification to remove the damn carrier logo from the statusbar left-hand side.

Nope... Not responsible for your stupidity if you test this on an MS323 or D320 and bork your L70.
You will need to be rooted for this mod.
Please make sure to back up your current lgsystemui.apk before pushing this new one.

Download the following file and push it to /system/priv-app. Set permissions to 0644, reboot and enjoy the statusbar space!

LGMS323 does not have carrier logo/name in status bar

Set permissions to 0644 and still have no status bar, where can i find the stock file to fix this? Using cricket d321 l70 with 4.4.2

Did you make a cwm backup first? Did you clear your cache?
What build number does your phone have?

I cleared the cache but atm dont have a computer nor sd card to backup on, i made a backup file on internal memory but the system deleted it when i pushed the new file in. Build number : KOT49I.d32110c

The mod should work fine on that build revision. I'll upload my stock systemui when I get to a computer. In the meantime, go grab an SD card so you can make backups properly ;-)

Iirc my system threw up a couple times til I booted clockwork mod recovery and cleared my cache. Try that. You can fastboot boot cwm. See my official D321 faq thread for details

Is the carrier indication an actual PNG file, or is it some how coded into the lgsystemui.apk?
I don't mind it on mine, and I have seen it change from Cricket to AT&T a few times.
I would just like to add some color to them if they are image files.

Not an image file unfortunately, but you should still be able to change the text color by editing statusbar.xml

Thank you for the information.
Not too up on editing XML files so I think I will leave it alone.
At least I got all my status bar icons in color and not the boring white.
It amazes me how much wasted storage is taken up by all the ICON png files that are never used.
