Damage help/suggestions!

Lurker
This morning my puppy managed to knock my Samsung Galaxy S6 off my counter into his water bowl.

My phone was submerged for a total of less than 2 seconds (literally the time it took me to bend over)... which immediately i though was not a major issue as I've seen test videos of S6's being submerged for much longer with no problems.

Immediately after i pulled it out I attempted to shut it off; but alas the screen went black after about 2-3 seconds. About 5 seconds after that the camera flash started going off constantly. My phone was essentially a strobe light for about 2 minutes; then it shut completely off.

I've had it in rice drying for a few hours now but i have a feeling it has already shorted out. Has anyone else experienced such problems? even after such a brief exposure to liquid? I am debating weather it is even worth trying to get repaired.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!!

FYI - Silica gel packets work better than rice. Also the recommended time to store in an airtight bag is 72 hours not a few.

I am sorry for your accident
. If it were me, I would take/send it into a Samsung Service Center. They would have the best chance of returning it to normal operation. I would also check with your carrier. They may have a liberal exchange policy although perhaps not a free one.

Good luck.
