Damaged SD card

Annabee

Lurker
Hi there! I have an Android Optimus Android and a couple of days ago it froze while I was playing a game. I shut the phone down and powered it back up. Now it says the SD card is damaged. I am not able to go on-line, check weather, or do anything that requires a network connection. All of my pictures and apps are still visible. Also, I am not able to get some text msgs. The phone gives me an option to download them, but then they won't download. My texts also don't send properly (ie my friend was texting me from her cell and when I would respond in the same thread, the phone would send the text to her landline. The only way I could get it to stop was to delete that number...)
So, yesterday I went and bought a new SD card, with bigger memory, and my phone is still saying the SD card is damaged... I don't know what to do and don't want to buy a new phone if I don't have to...

Welcome Annabee!
Do you have the LG Optimus? The reason I ask, is because there are alot of different Optimus phones from LG.
