Data Connection Letter

Hi Guys,

My first noobie question so here goes (I've searched high and low and can't find the answer):

This is in relation to Data Connection Signal/Strength...

I just want to know what's the best connection type to have?

I am talking about the letters:

E, G, H, 3G

I would have assumed that 3G was the best however I very rarely get that (usually stuck on H or G...)

I live in a 4 story house and generally the reception signal for calls/texts is good however the internet connection changes letter constantly...

Can someone advise/explain what is the best type?

G = GPRS, Worst Signal
E = Edge, Better than G
3G = UTMS 3G, Best Signal

I think H=HSPA which is better than 3G? Not sure if it's 4G, in that case I don't know why it would say H and not 4? 80th post
 
BTW When I typed that out I did not see rtb35's post that said H was 3.5 G...

That would explain why they use H as they can't use 3 and 3.5 would take too much space...
