Data Connectivity?

Hi everybody,
I was thinking of picking up one of these phones after reading some reports of interoperability with grandfathered BeyondTalk accounts.
I previously owned the LG Optimus Elite, but downgraded to the LG Optimus V due to constant dropped connections on the 3G data network.
The V has great data connectivity, however it would be nice to have something a little faster.
I'm curious if anybody experiences dropped signal, or poor connection speed with this phone--particularly around south central Wisconsin.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

I'm in south FL, but I've owned both the Elite and the V. My 3G data throughput (with a strong signal as high as 1.8Mbps) and connectivity with the Awe is just as good if not better than both of my previous phones.
