so I have a galaxy s 2 4g that was purchased from AT&T. I let my plan run out and now I have a prepaid sim card in it. the problem is that my data does not work now. my question is is if I flash a new rom cm9 or something of that nature will my day to work. or is there a way that I just get it to work on the stock rom. thanks for the help

that pre-paid sim card includes a data plan?

yes there is a data plan. just so I am clear the phone originally was not a prepaid phone. and AT&T does not offer 4 G with the prepaid data pack so the data just all around doesn't work on the phone. I don't care about the 4 G I just want data in general to work.

Since you're not an AT&T customer anymore, you need to change your APN settings (settings > more > mobile networks > access point names) to those of your new provider. You can probably find the settings somewhere on their website.
