Help Data issues?

I got my Nexus yesterday, and today I noticed that my mobile data connection isn't working right. I'm at a location where I have 4 bars of voice service and a data connection that wavers somewhat between HSPA and Edge (T-mobile), but always has a connection on my Galaxy S3. I'm not sure if there's LTE here specifically, but I am in an LTE market.

Tonight, my Nexus has not had a data connection most of the night. Mobile data is on and it's on LTE for network mode, but no connection, not HSPA, Edge, or LTE.

I do have all 4 bars of voice service and can make calls and send texts with no problems.

Any input? I don't think this is a hole, because I noticed the problem when I was travelling main roads tonight and couldn't get data to work for GPS. However, it connected to data (LTE) right as I turned into the T-mobile store's parking lot to see if they had any solutions.

I'm befuddled, but if I can't find an answer, this phone is going back. T-mobile's service is weak enough that I can't live with a phone with a weak antenna or other connection problems.

Also, I had service here earlier today. I was attempting to get T-mobile's visual voicemail app to work with my phone, but it kept giving me server errors despite the fact that my data connection worked for loading websites.

This brings me to another question: Should I be able to use the Tmo Visual Voicemail app with this phone? Did it work with the Nexus 4?

James, any more info on what your issue was? Mine still has this issue. The only way to get my phone to connect to mobile data after disconnecting from wifi is to go into the network operator settings, manually tell it to connect to AT&T, then switch it back to Tmobile. After doing this, it usually finds the data signal... usually.
