Data loss

Ever since the merger metro has been doing a lot of upgrades. BUT, for me its totally screwed up. In places where I had data before now I don't. & it just keeps getting worse, not better. My gf is having the same problems, so I know its not isolated to me. I think tmo is getting all the good stuff & trying to push us out & to them sooner. I was planning on going to tmo at the end of the year anyway, but metro could at least give us something better.
Anyone else having data & signal problems?

I'm still getting good signal everywhere I have always gotten good signal.

That was to be expected. If you read anything on the merger it is discussed as they transition.

I have read up on the transition. But the places I had 4g all day before I should still have it now. On the train ride home from work the guy sitting next had tmo & had 4g without it being cut off where I had it cut off

Could have been a hiccup with your device? My device never loses signal either.

both of my S3 have been dropping 4G out of no where! example if I'm streaming a video or tethering my 4G will just go out and come back within sec but will interrupt all the video or streaming and its irritating:(

Yeah, a few months back I'd usually get 10+ mbps down at my house, and now it's really crappy sometimes and okay the other times. I Think they're just (low-key) trying to make us switch to gsm phones asap.

Oh, idk about that, but T-mobile will have it so it's the same thing. I'll probably "give in" and also get the GS4. Hopefully soon

My s3 and my gf's s3 have been doing the same thing. perfect 4g signal and then 4g icon disappears for a few seconds then pops back on. Really makes streaming very hard.

Eventually everyone on Metro will have yo switch to GSM.
they better give me an incentive to do so, like let me keep my grandfathered plan;)

They actually plan to start giving incentives late 2014 for the mid 2015 shutdown.
According to the road map they put out months ago, who knows how much that has changed though.

Even on the tmobile side there's issues my 4g has been consistent but I seen edge pop up and stay edge for a little bit too also lte has been showing more towards the center of town at my house I have hspa still faster than metro lte lol but they are still working on towers

I'm in Atascadero, CA (think: state hospital) and in my house I usually have 4 bars of 4G on my lg motion sometimes 3.

Almost everyday for the past several days my 4G signal has dropped in this manner to for 10 to 20 seconds. It happened twice today it usually only happens once per day before.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm start the same thread in Tmo page to see how their data are doing. I saw one reply here about Tmo, but IMO they're data is not as screwed up as ours.
BUT, since samsung updated the S3 it all seems to be smoothing out, even getting better. I think that's about normal for the higher end phones. My coworker has the ZTE Anthem & his data has gotten worse than mine.
It also makes sense that metro may be trying to push us to gsm phones. That way in 2015 we can all switch to Tmo with no problems & still keep the same phones.
But like most, I'm impressed from where metro first started to where they're at now.

It makes sense so they can shut down CDMA and use that spectrum for LTE.

There's currently no plans to shut down metro even after the CDMA shut down date

What they're currently doing move everyone to GSM then continue what theyve always done be a low cost unlimited everything carrier

Aaahhh, I was under the impression tmo was gonna take things over in 2015 & metro's name was gonna be done away with. Have no proof of that, just what I've read in other threads.
So, let me see if I get this right. Sometime between now & 2015 I'll "have" to get a gsm phone. Which is no problem, was gonna do that eventually. But, I was gonna go to tmo & get the s4. But now that metro has the s4 I don't have to go anywhere?
Aaaaahhh, wait a min. It just hit me. That's what's happening with the spectrum merging, right? tmo & metro will still be separate companies but merged into one signal?

No we're already one company but separate brands running the same towers...metros a subsidiary using the parents companies resources
