Hey folks,
I have the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate i896. I live in Canada, but do a lot of travelling to Europe and down south (Mexico, Cuba, etc).
Im having a difficult time trying to figure out how to turn all data off. What I want is to be able to use my phone as a simple ipod or to connect to free wifi when Im on the road. My colleagues who use an iPhone4 have shown me on their phones that they have to first turn their data roaming off, then they turn off their cell data, then they turn off their 3G.
On my phone, all I can see is turning off the Data Roaming (under the mobile networks settings, then I go into "accounts and sync" and turn OFF background data AND accounts/syncs.
Is there more I need to do? Obviously I'd also be in "airplane mode", and then turn the WiFi ON to try to pick up a signal. Can I then freely browse the internet and use my phone to listen to music without worry of getting charged for roaming?
Thanks in advance for any help.
