Hi people,
I got this phone from Hong Kong, assuming it would work in Sydney Australia, as the frequency bands correspond. Generally it does work, however...
If I have an active DATA connection that is active on the 850MHz band (3G), this will frequently cause the phone to power-off and restart (sometimes instantaneous, sometimes within 10 minutes).
Data connections on wifi, GSM (edge) and 2100MHz (3G) all work fine. The 3G in Sydney that is provided by my Telco is generally 850MHz, with occasional 2100MHz pockets which are being phased out, so that is why I need the 850MHz working.
This originally seemed like a fault in the radio, however I got a replacement and had the exact same problem straight out of the box.
Is it likely I got two faulty phones, or more likely that the Hong Kong version just isn't compatible with Sydney Telcos, even though the frequency bands match.
Thanks,
RM

Edit: I have replaced the Sim card, as I'm aware a fault here can cause rebooting issues. Didn't help in this case however...
