Data Profile Question on AOSP-HeroC ROM

Noob here...sorry! Thanks for all the help so far. I'm sure my question is somewhere on this forum, but I can't find it. Here it goes:

I Rooted Wife's Hero (2.1) and flashed [ROM]aospCmod-HEROC-20110523, got gapps and all is well except data profile when WiFi is off, (i.e. no EVDO/3g connection).

1) Since I flashed from Android 2.1 to 2.3.4 will I not loose everything if I flash back to do Profile update?

2) Is there a GB Sense ROM for Hero? I've seen some noise (maybe based on PICO) in other forums but couldn't find ROM

3) Is there no way to add Profile update to current aosp ROM?

FYI. First time at all this (although I studied for almost six month). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When you install a custom recovery, the first thing you should do is perform a Nandroid backup. That basically takes a snapshot of your current setup's image. If you ever had trouble, you could restore that Nandroid backup and be back to your stock setup. So, in the case of updating the Profile and PRL, you could restore your Nandroid back to your stock HTC Sense UI ROM and then update those two, and then restore back to the Nandroid of your Android 2.3.4 ROM and all would be well.

There are a couple Gingerbread Sense based ROM floating around and here is one: [ROM][Sense 2.3.3] WildHeroc RC2.2 [9-3-11] - xda-developers . I think it is mostly complete, but I have not personally tried it in a while. You can not update your Profile or PRL is an AOSP ROM, so you need to go back to an HTC Sense UI based ROM as outlined in the about paragraph.
