Help data recovery

I have the Samsung S4 active phone and have recently factory reset it due to data consumption, and this having an unforeseen consequence of losing very precious pictures and videos of my family. I have tried drfone and other useless programs which seek subscriptions. My phone is rooted and i'm seeking a free and safe method to recovery previously deleted medias and media lost after factory resetting. Please, please help me with this I am heartbroken losing these pictures and videos.

I tend to think the chance of getting them back is low. Factory reset is supposed to erase user data. Android (unlike windows) doesn't have any built in recycle bin or restore capability.

Were the pictures on internal or external sd?
Did you happen to have any cloud backup services (example google photos)?

Nothing really apart from moving on. There's really nothing much you can do that's guaranteed to recover, and all things I know that may have a better chance costs more than buying a new phone. I fail to see how losing those things is unforseen considering the phone warns you that it will erase all data if you continue the factory reset.
