Yes Rxpert, you're right. I guess I would qualify my question as to compare it to say, an S4 in the same environment. Or even an AT&T version. I know they are supposed to all be the same, but i can't help thinking that the N6 that I am getting will not have the same Verizon data speeds as my S4.

In my area, I ran the exact same test with my Maxx and got speeds 10-15 mbps faster down and 5-10 faster up depending on the time of day.
My concern is if Big Red never in fact sells this device, will this only get worse over time because the radios will never be updated.
So you're saying that your Maxx was 10-15 mbps faster than the Nexus 6? Wow! That is exactly what I was afraid of...

Today, I will get the Note 4. I will do an internet speed test with it, my Maxx and the Nexus 6 all from the same location and all at the same time of the day. I will take screen shots and post them here for comparisons sake. My wife also has an iPhone 5S. I will do the same test with it. This should give a pretty good indicator of internet down and upload speeds.

When I first got the phone yesterday, I thought my data speeds were average. Not exceptional nor disappointing, but right in line with what I had been getting on my Galaxy S3.
However, that might have just been the network itself. Today when I brought it into work for the first time I was able to get 2 to 3 bars of LTE service in my office, whereas with my S3 I had only been able to get around 2 bars of 3G service. This tells me that the radios inside the Nexus are pretty outstanding, something I've heard said about Motorola radios before.
I'll have to wait and see, but I have a feeling that if/when I'm in a stronger LTE area I'll be getting some pretty good speeds.

I have all the photos I promised but there is no need in posting them. I used speedtest.net for all three phones. The N6, Droid Maxx and Note 4 all had about the EXACT same down and up speeds. What I found out is the 4G in my home is absolutely atrocious. The fastest speed was 3mbps down and up was 2.54 mbps.

Obviously it will vary by area, but in general I would say the N6 outperforms the S4 for the most part, and while the power level (dBm/RSSI) are about the same, the SNR on the N6 is better across the board, which I am hoping translates to better battery life as it doesn't have to work as hard to amplify the non-noisy part of the signal to keep a connection.

Well, I got my Nexus 6 today and am having a great time with it. At home my reception on Verizon is better than it was with my S4. My DL/UL at home is 9.2/3.1. In town, I got 15.7/6.5.
I'm pretty happy so far...
