Data still on while connected to Wi-Fi?

The 3G and 4G icon usually remains whenever I'm connected to Wi-Fi. My Evo 3D and Sprint Hero never did this. Is this normal for the RAZR? Is data still being disabled when Wi-Fi connects or is it somehow using both?

While connected to wifi, my 4G/3G icons remain, but are white, not blue like when they are active for data.

That's normal. They stay connected to the 3G/4G networks but don't use them for data (for the most part, they are used for MMS messages but that it AFAIK).

I have a smart action set to disable cell data when on wifi works great.

I used that for a while but sometimes it would leave data off even after I was disconnected from Wi-Fi.

No data used unless for mms, used to disable in smart actions but missed messages and it takes way to long to reconnect.
