Data Throttling

Ok. So I have experience a throttling of data when it comes to peer to peer file sharing. I am rooted an have experienced this with multiple roms so it can't be my phone. When I download files straight up, the speeds exceed 2MBs/second.

I believe that it is illegal for a carrier to do such a thing, January of this year they claimed not to be doing so within the forums on the carriers website.

As far as the legality behind P2P sharing, it is not illegal. It is a lot of the content that is uploaded and downloaded that is illegal.

My question is has anyone else on this metwork experiencing this?

It will also get to a point to where all data transmission stops.

I often use utorrent while at work, since our LAN is off-limits, i use my EVO 4G's rooted wifi tether and can say i've never had speed issues.
Just used it yesterday. I've used it on 3G and 4G with no issues. One side of my building only gets 3G. I'm in Houston. Have not tried other p2p protocols such as gnutella, etc.

I have been using adownloader to directly download to my device. I use it fairly often and encounter these issues everytime I download over 100MB.

It could also be an issue with your peer's connection too right? Maybe the weak link is at the other end..

Yea I grabbed a couple torrents with the phone & it was also slower, but I think it may be with the torrent manager. I've downloaded other files from host file sharing sites & experienced normal 3g data speeds

The issue I'm having happens with different torrents, downloaders, roms, and cell towers.Ive tried everything I can to get different results. This is only with 4G. WIFI gives me no issues. Neither does 3G, just the obvious speed difference with 3G. I just downloaded Blend 2.6.2 over 4G and had great speeds. Well beyond 2MB/s.
