Data usaage with games & apps

If i set up my google account just to get free games but disable the syncing for gmail, will it use up all my data if i dont sync updates or anything?I only have the 200 mb data plan.. also will it use data whenever i play a game or use app? first time android user.. please help (:

200MB is plenty enough, if you have Wi-Fi at home and don't stream music/videos all the time on the go, you'll never fill it up. In the first month I tracked my Data usage and barely filled up 300 MB with streaming music for hours on the go. If you download over Wi-Fi and keep in mind to download huge file packages over Wi-Fi (by that I mean start your games once while you are still on Wi-Fi, a lot of games need to download additional data on the first startup) you should have no problem. Just download something to keep track of your data usage for the first few months, as far as I know Gingerbread has data traffic limits inside the firmware, so you wnon't need an app for that, when it comes out for your phone.

On your phone or like at home or something? Most universities and some libraries have free WiFi/internet you can use. Starbucks and orbs restaurants have it cheap you could use as well, some wherei am at have it free, and a lot of the newbuses are getting it as well. If you look around you can probably find places with WiFi you can use.

Another thing that may work is with your pc. Change the network setting on that allows other computers/devices to use the internet through your pc.
