Data usage Confussion

Rezz

Lurker
OK so I'm total newb at this and apologize if this questions has been asked and answered. But my wife and I finally got smart phones after many years. We have the LG Revolution with Verizon and they are 4G lte phones. Since i've never had data on a phone before i had some usage questions. I got to Verizon's usage calculator and got totally confused by usages:

Verizon wireless data calculator Says

3G Video Streaming = 250 MB/hr
3G Verizon Video & NFL Mobile Streaming = 125 MB/hr
4G Video Streaming = 350 MB/hr

How is it that streaming in 4G is 100 MB/hr more than streaming in 3G? If 4G is so much better why does it take more data?

Again sorry for the Newbish question :o

that is how much data it will download in 1 hour, hence the 350 MB/hr = 350 meg's of data in 1 hour.

4g is faster than 3g, but not that much in real world numbers, they always advertise UP to 10 times faster or what ever, but that does not mean you will actually see those speeds.
