Data usage monitoring

Hi all,

My apologies if this has has been asked before (and answered) :)

Anyway, is there a way to monitor which apps are sending and receiving data at any one time or to log which apps have used data and how much over a period of time?

I'm already using 3G Watchdog, but this tracks the only the overall data usage.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers

I think some people mentioned System Panel, but search for it in the forum as it has been discussed several times already.

I'm reviving this thread because I desperately need an app to monitor data traffic app by app. I've had days where 500 Mb are transmitted from my phone, while I'm doing nothing but facebook and tweeting.
Please note, I only have 2.1 since I'm in Canada...
thanks!

I had a similar problem and used TrafficStats to trace the offenders. If you can't use TrafficStats due to a lack of Froyo I can tell you in my case by far the biggest offender was the stock Mail app, which was polling my Hotmail account every 15 minutes. I've since ditched the stock app (set the polling to manual and removed my account from it), logged into Hotmail on my PC and set it to forward to my gMail account and now just use the gMail app. I now use MUCH less data AND get my mails quicker, thanks to the push functionality of gMail.

I have been looking for something like this for a while, pleased I did not wait for 3uk to give me froyo and went and got it myself.
