Data Usage with apps

hello,

I have the droid 2 with the 150mb data package. I havent even came close to going over in my first two months. There are a few apps i want to get like handsent, so if i got it would i be using data everytime i open it up to text or not? there are other apps i may want but dont know how much data it might use. if someone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

Each app lists the permissions that it would use. If it lists network access or internet access then you can imply there'll be some form of data usage by the application. There are several monitor apps that keep track of how much data each app uses in your phone, so you could use one of those.
