Help Data Usage

Got a text message from Boost yesterday. I assume all have received it also

=======================

"Starting on or about 1/20/13, Monthly Unlimited plans will offer 2.5GB/month of full speed network data but will slow to 3G speeds of 256kbps for continued data use after 2.5GB. If network data speeds are slowed, they will restore to full 3G/4G speeds as soon as your next monthly plan cycle starts. If you purchased a Mobile Hotspot add-on, your data usage is measured from a combined total use of phone and Mobile Hotspot usage."

=================

No it probably wont effect me since I don't think I do that much with the phone but I was wondering how do we check data, wifi and usage on the phone. Is there a built in way to monitor this usage. I have downloaded an app called "My Data Manager"

But if there is a built in way to monitor usage I would prefer it than running more apps.

No built in ways to monitor it. Only Apps or calling them up and asking. But I think if you login to your account online it may show your usage.

I got the text too, sucks because wifi is down at work right now so I am using a lot more data than I used too, wonder how long it takes to hit the cap using pandora at work every day, yikes.

my signal has been poor lately, sometimes it says 3g but it's like I barely have data

I hope they have a very good explanation for this ridiculous slow speed I'm getting. It is getting frustrated. I got a stupid smartphone and the unlimited plan mostly for the data. I'm gonna dump this shit carrier if they dont fix this.

I received the text also and interpret it to mean that we will get the maximum 3G speed available on the network up to 2.5gb and then 256kbps for the rest of the billing period.

When they first came out with 4G a few months ago the terms were 4G speeds up to 2.5gb and throttled to 3G speed for the rest of the billing period.

So yes, now 3G will be capped and throttled too.

Ha ha!
I probably only average about 256kbps. So, I guess I'm already throttled. On very rare occasions I may hit 1mbps. And 3G should hit about 3mbps. I don't know about Boost anymore... we really need some competition to put some pressure on these guys.
