Date Changes automatically

[mgmdomingos]

I unselect the option for obtaining time values automattically and the I set the date some years back.

As soon as I'm connected to the internet, the date becomes today's date.

How can I prevent this behaviour?

[sitlet]

Why do you want the date to be off?

[TheBrit]

Why do you want the date to be off?

Yeah I wondered that too...

[Frisco]

Have you rooted the device?

[mgmdomingos]

I want to turn it off because I want to change the date some years back and open an https site on stell browser and opera to see if they detect the certificate as invalid

[Frisco]

I'm thinking that you may have to root your device so that you can remove the service which generates the date sync.

[mgmdomingos]

Ok, but there is a way to install the service again? and which service is that?

[mgmdomingos]

How can I uninstall the Date update service that automatically updates the date when connected to the internet?

Unchecking the checkbox that says "obtain date automatticaly" doesn't work for me.

[snapper.fishes]

That checkbox is only for the carrier date service.

No idea. It might be built into the Android OS.
