Help date&time reset when removing battery

RobENG

Hi,
I have noticed that date & time on my SGA2 is reset when battery and sim card is removed from phone. Is that normal? Can it be prevented? I did not have this "issue" with old LG Optimus One.
Appreciate your comments.

Hi there

Yep same thing happened to me too, bit of a pain to be honest and I wont be removing the battery again unless completely necessary!

Okay, so this isn't entirely related but it doesn't seem worthy of a thread itself.

I haven't removed the battery so haven't noticed your problem, but has anyone else noticed that when you restart the phone it forgets some of your app choice defaults?

Example: I use Go SMS, but after a restart when I click on my messaging icon on the homescreen it asks me if I want to use Go or or the stock app. It also happens with using Opera instead of the stock browser.

I recently removed my phones battery after I had already switched off the phone, I then after say 10 seconds replaced the battery and turned the phone back on from scratch, when it started up after reading the card data etc I noticed a whatsapp message informing me that it had found the wrong date and time, and it gave me an option from that app to adjust to the correct date and time.

My question is this normal after removing the battery?

I had already had the time settings for to use the network values.

Never noticed/had this issue. If you remove and don't replace the Sim card, yes, otherwise the phone uses the mobile network to get the time. If you remove the sim, don't replace it and had the phone set to pull time/date settings from the mobile network then it will reset and you'll be forced to do it manually.
