Dead SD card

I think the SD card I used in my S3 is dead. Before I buy a new one, does anyone know of anything that might fix it, or at least allow me to recover the data?

And assuming it's dead, what type of card do I need. From what I remember when I got this one (dumb thing is less than an year old), was it a class 4?

Does your computer see it with a card reader?
You can try to use this to recover lost files:

Unfortunately not yet. I'm working on trying it on my 3rd computer now.
