Root DeBranding San Francisco 2

Previously owned a Samsung Galaxy Ace, then went to an iphone 3gs for a while, have decided android is better!

So, I will be getting my hands on a San Francisco 2 tomorrow, I am on Orange network and I know from previous handsets on there I will HATE the bloatware on it.

Does anybody know a simple way to debrand the phone, I don't need to unlock it, just to re-flash a custom ROM. The tutorials seem to centre round unlocking and seem quite fiddly.

Any help appreciated :D

Hey fuzz, I've moved your post to the root forum, it's probably more relevant there (as you'll need root to debrand).

From what I can see, this looks like your best bet: [HOW TO] Rooting Unlocking and De-Branding your ZTE Crescent [Updated Now Complete] - Android @ MoDaCo

It can look fiddly if you've not done it before, but looking through the instructions it is relatively simple. As per the big red text at the top of the post though, you might want to hold off for a bit.

Totally agree on the bloatware etc. My other half had the original San Fran and once you got rid of all that sort of stuff, it was at least twice the phone it was with it on.

No probs, have a look and if there's anything that looks a bit iffy, let me know.

I don't have the phone, but will do a bit of reading up on it if you need me to.
