The S5 I just bought from Germany appears to have O2 branded software as there's a folder called 'O2 tipps' in the apps folder. Do I have to debrand it to get OTA updates (I won't be using an O2 SIM card). If so, can you please guide me on how to go about debranding it? Thanks
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but once you insert a SIM card that is registered to a carrier, you should then get the OTA updates for that carrier.
maybe not, as your phone won't have the carrier's OEM bloatware ROM package on it.
