Decisions to make

First off, this isn't going to be another "which phone do I buy". I've already made up my mind on the Galaxy Note or the Galaxy S3. I've went over reviews and specs and love both, just deciding on screen size. Only question I have, is there anything coming out in the next couple months that will be a big upgrade. Nothing worse than buying something and to have it upgraded in a month. I'd rather wait if there is something else within the next few months, otherwise I'm going to buy now. So my question is, does anyone know of anything coming to Canada in the next few months that is comparable to the S3 or Note, or an upgrade to either.

Thanks

Welcome to AF, rustydusty1717!:)

There will always be newer and better phones coming down the road, so your best bet is to choose the best phone for you now, or else you will never make a choice.
I happen to have the Note and the S3, both.
The screen on the Note is very nice, especially for using the keyboard, and reading articles, and such, but if I personally had to choose between the Note or the S3, I would choose the S3 in a heartbeat. It is the best Android phone I have ever owned. The speediness of the processor is amazing, and the screen is crisp, colors bright, but not over saturated.
It is a big screen, not a huge screen, and call quality is quite good.
Ringers and music are loud, but not distorted. It is just a great phone with all the new perks, so if it is the newest perks that you want, along with a sound Android phone, go with the S3. Hope that helps.:)

Thanks for the reply! Looking at the specs, is it not the same processor and memory in note and S3? Main difference I seen was the screen size and one of the cameras. My father just picked up the S3 and I love it, the battery life is stunning compared to previous smart phones. A co worker has the note though and I love it as well. Sometimes it seems a bit too big, but the large screen is fantastic when typing and looking at large pictures. Anymore suggestions, greatly appreciated. As well, any new android phones coming out on the horizon that will be comparible?

Thanks!

Here's what I am looking at for specs:

If you're looking at phones that will come from Samsung, they won't be releasing any phone that's better than the S3 until its time for the S4 sometime May next year.

Which Nexus would you be speaking of? :listen:

The one no one knows anything about. ;)
My friend has a Note and I think it's a great phone. I've personally not used an S3 but can't comment on it. They're both fantastic devices. The S3 has a bit of a spec bump, but nothing to amazing. I think what it comes down to is which one feels better in your hand. The Note is pretty dang big, but the S3 feels great to me (as it's quite similar to my Nexus).

Which Nexus would you be speaking of? :listen:

The Nexus phones always come out by November. So its pretty much taken for granted that the newest Nexus phone sporting Android version "K" will be released on November.

And oh yeah, don't be fooled by the specs on the links you posted. They are both dual cores yes, but the S3 uses the latest generation Snapdragon 4 processors. Basically the dual-core S3 is just as fast as the international quad core version. The Note isn't exactly a slow phone, but it has weaker processing power than the S3 despite having similar clockspeed and cores. Its the same reasons why an older Core2Duo processor is slower than a newer i5 processor even with same speed and cores.

A new Nexus comes out every November so you should probably wait until then but if it dosnt come out you can not go wrong with the S3.

If i were you i would wait until the New Nexus comes out as Stock android is better but that dosnt matter if your a person who roots your phone,

The Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to be unveiled end of August and launched within few months. I'm waiting for that one. ^________^ I have the S3 which I love but can't get over that large beautiful screen of GNotes. I think whichever choice you make, you can't go wrong!
