I believe that I can still return my Galaxy S III for what'll probably be a 15%-20% restocking fee, OR keep it. This is for the American Verizon versions.

I use my phone for everything but talking. Mostly music, browsing, games, video, messaging, in that order.

IF return, what do: (wait for)Galaxy Note II, HTC One X, Razar HD, iPhone 5?

I like my Galaxy S III. Size factor, I like bigger phones. I think a 5.5 wouldn't be a problem.

Problems with S III
- Slow response when opening or closing things
- Touchwiz is pretty good, just a little more complicated sometimes I feel

Problems with One X:
- Hate the skin

iPhone 5:
- I like Android market
- I I like customization without rooting (I'm not opposed to rooting)
- I have a 160 GB iPod classic

Note II:
- Pixel density (put it next to an iPhone and tell me how much I'm going to be able to tell a difference because of pixel density and not the different types of screens)

Razar:
- I assume it's vanilla? If so, I've grown very custom to my Bionic's feel.

I've looked at the specs, some reviews and while I have a feeling about what I should do, I just need opinions.

Before you go trading in the S3

- Slow response when opening or closing things

My S3 responds fine opening and closing things. I would try a battery pull. If this does not work do a factory Reset. Yes it's a PITA resetting up everything but a reset may clear what ever is causing the lag.

- Touchwiz is pretty good, just a little more complicated sometimes I feel

There are other launchers you can try from the Play store if TW does not suit you.

If you really do decide to return the s3 my personal opinion would be to go for the note 2. Its a superb all rounder and games are superb on it. Mines been attached to me permanently for the last 3 weeks since I bought it.

Hey there Caesium, i have moved this thread into the Device Comparison forum since you are comparing devices. Hope this isn't a bad move for you, if so feel free to contact me with a quick pm :)

If I was an s3, 2 reasons that would make me trade it in for a note 2:

5.5" display
Preloaded with 4.1 JellyBean. Meaning at one point the note 2 will eventually recieve an upgrade to Key Lime Pie.

So, does anyone know why the Note II can have a quad core processor if the SIII can't? All I know is that the SIII had problems with the radio service when using quad core in America, which is why they went for dual-core.

Also, they say "it's not significantly slower". Okay, how noticeable is it really?

I'm about to get the gs3 this thursday. I have had my evo for two years now and love it. No difference between the note 2 and the s3. The processor is one along with the screen size. It all breaks down yo the feel in your hand. Bigger screen would be nice but less than a inch would not change my mind. I've spent many hours reading reviews and found so much wrong with specs. And what some post here is the same, she said he said. Is stay with the gs3 if I were you. Android updates their system so don't worry about 4.1,it will come to gs3. Go to your store and get some hands on time and make the choice

Chip supply.

The quad for the SGS3 at the time needed too many extra chips for American cell requirements, including lte.

The Qualcomm S4 dual core has a world modem built-in that solved that.

Qualcomm has recently produced a one chip solution for the radio side so it's now cost effective to use that with the Samsung quad core on the Note 2.

As for speed, depends on your apps and your use.

For some things the S4 dual core will be faster because it's using later generation cores than the Samsung quad. For other things the quad will be faster because there are more cores to share the load.

People are extremely happy with both types of setups because both are quite good.

I liked the first Note over the SGS3, that's just me, point being evaluate whole devices when you get a chance, there's a lot more to the speed equation than the main processor.
