Default browser

I have Chrome set as the default browser, yet everytime I open a link from email, google etc. I always receive the "open with" popup. I tap Chrome "always" but it still pops up everytime. ?

So more current versions of Android have better capability to manage default app choices but Lollipop is pretty dated so if you can't get this straightened out using your Settings menu, try using a third-party app like this 'Default App Manager' app by Tintage:

I have this same issue running android 10 on a Pixel 2 xl. When I click on a link in an app then I 'open with' pops up with a choice of browsers even though I've set the default browser to Chrome. Any idea why the link just doesn't open in chrome or how to solve this?

Anyone have an idea on this? I've tried a couple of apps including 'better open with' but still have the same problem.

Meaning = This is a bug in Android that has never been fixed.
There is no work arounds
