Help Default Notifications

Hi, I am new to Android and have a Galaxy S 3 and trying to figure out how to set notifications. I want to have a different notification for my e-mail and text message. How do I go about doing this please help. I have only got as far as setting up default notification. I also went into my settings under e-mail and set a tone but still get the default notification.

For the email apps goto into them so you see your email list, then press options > settings > select the account > and your taken to settings for that account only.

For texts, load the text app and again options > settings to change the tone. Highly recommend you try out an alternative text app like gosms tho. ;-)
