Like anything there can always be some sort of defect. I know in my case most all issues have been able to be resolved via replacement of the SIM card even though even Verizon thought possibly a defective Maxx. But even then we were able to prove it was an issue with the SIM card. A lot of what I've read are issues that can be fixed with apps or SIM card replacement, now and then a bad phone, and once in a rare moment might come across an app causing a problem. For what its worth though every Verizon rep I've spoken to about an issue the first words out of their mouths have been, "It's a Nexus isn't it?"
