define a word in android

Hi all,

I have recently switched from iphone to samsung galaxy note. I don't miss anything except a built in dictionary which can define a word. In iphone i used to just tap a word and get a "define" button.

Is there any app or setting that can give me same functionality.

I have been looking for a definition app for a long time in Android.

AFAIK that's an Apple patented feature, meaning Android manufacturers can't put that in their phones, or they will get sued (HTC got sued about this if I remember correctly).

The closest you can probably get is highlighting the word, copy it, press the search button (on the Note it's a long press of the menu button beside the home key), then paste it into the search field.

What I normally do to get definitions is hold down the Home button until Google Now opens and verbally ask for the word definition. Google speaks it back to me and also shows it on my screen. I can always get back to what I was doing by opening the recents list and tapping on the app I had open previously. Since I didn't close out of the app, it's still running where I left off.
