Define ST

Does ST count the data each droid uses, does it even care what the tallies are, does it show them on my login page? I sure don

You are asking a question that, to date, has not be 100% defined by Straight Talk.

Depending on which carrier you use (you are on Sprint), the experience has ranged from crazy things like 100MB/day with 2GB/month max before SEVERE throttling, to no issues consuming Gigs upon Gigs of data.

It _generally_ appears that GSM users (especially AT&T) see the most restrictive data use limits. Whereas those on CDMA have a much more relaxed data allowance.

I know when I was on ST (Verizon service), I had consumed 3 to 5 Gigs a month easily for a while. No issues. Whereas a friend on ST with AT&T SIM would get slowed to absolute tears at random use about about 1 GB (I attributed it to a high individual day use).

But alas... that all said... there is no good solid answer to your question as Straight Talk has clearly stated in their TOS that "unlimited data" excludes anything that could possibly considered "abusive"... which itself is defined in VERY broad terms (can include streaming any media )

Oh and no. They don't show you anything about your phone data use on the website.

My new ST Ascend ll is CDMA, I guess that means Sprint. And hi DJ, as you can see, I bailed on RW.

CDMA means you'll use Verizon towers. (:

Edit: Ok, I need to point something out. Your box says CDMA-S. That means your using Sprint I believe. I used to use that method for finding out what service I would use. I mean trying to find out what letter followed the CDMA to know what service it used. Here's a super useful tip though: look at the America map on the box. http://s1062.photobucket.com/user/TurkForums/media/Untitled-2.jpg.html If it's red then your using Verizon towers. http://s714.photobucket.com/user/Sweeper43/media/IMG_20120511_160947.jpg.html If it's blue your using either Sprint, AT&T, etc. Now if you ask me which one of those would you be using if you bought a 'blue map' phone, I would probably respond with 'uuuummm' because my goal is to just track down the red map Verizon phones. Only Verizon works in my county. Sorry for confusing you. :P

His is sprint.

Most Straight Talk smart phones are running on the sprint network.
The only smart phones I know of on verizon are the samsung Proclaim and the LG Optimus Zip.
Which actually isnt that great because Verizon has such a large coverage area yet they have the worst smart phone collection.

But in answer to the Original Post Only AT&T data is really subject to the questionable Unlimitedness.
I do think if they think your getting too excessive they could cut you for any provider but the main culprit is att.

Hi :) They've put out several other Verizon phones since the Proclaim. The new LG Optimus Showtime and Huawei Ascend Plus are both Verizon and rocking ICS. They're the best Verizon service phones Straight Talk offers as of today. The lower-end Samsung Galaxy Centura (with ICS), Huawei Ascend Y and LG Optimus Dynamic just came out this year I believe, and they're using Verizon. There's also the older Samsung Galaxy Showcase, but I haven't seen it in stores for a while. Lastly, I keep hearing something about a Huawei Glory on Verizon, but I don't know if it's for ST or Net10. I think that's it. :P

Messed up the quote part somehow. :( Sorry.
