Delay?

Delay because of No Top Tier Phone to be released In December?

A contact of mine here in NC told me that the Nexus could be Delayed until December!!! He told that this has been going around the office. The reason behind it is that Verizon does not have any strong phone release for December and the Galaxy Nexus will fit in as a Top Notch phone for the month of December. November has the Motorola RazR and HTC rebound. I am still praying for a November release but it is up to Verizon.

Highly doubt it -- that makes no sense to me at all.

They aren't going to market the Nexus anyway probably because of the lack of Verizon bloatware so why hold out until December to release it.

I am putting this on the [do not believe] pile.
 
how can it be a delay when no official date has been given? Delayed from when? lol speculated launch dates?

Why? They have't even said a damn thing, made any claim for release date, and therefore can't get angry about them "delaying."

The rumor mill and high expectations that people let themselves chase... that's what makes me sick.

The part that makes most people sick is that the phone was announced so long ago, and no date has been released yet. Google, Samsung and mainly Verizon should have sat down together and talked this whole thing out before announcing the phone. It's like if your Grandma writes you a check and dates it for a month from now.
 
Technically it's not a delay since Verizon has made no such announcement of a release date. A December date would be later than hoped though. I wasn't going to purchase mine until January but the sooner it releases the better since it would allow more time for a price decrease while I wait for my NE2 DEC 31.

I wouldn't be surprised though considering how the competition timeline would be all screwy.

Lol...are u kidding me? This phone could have went straight to web sales 2 weeks ago! Here's the problem....

You have companies like Apple having a press conference about an iphone...and Bammm..2 weeks later it releases.

These clowns at Samsung do a botched announcement in Hong Kong with nothing about a release....and weeks later were still left to spin in the wind..Thanks Google and Samsung.

Then you Vzw making it worse ...
Why u ask? Because as I have said, as some others have said! Verizon does not care about this phone at all, no bloat, no care....simple as that! If it was up to them, the GNex wouldn't be released until December 26th....after the big holiday rush...it is what it is!

And honestly...There botched releases are getting old already....

It is not Samsung it is Verizon!!! The phones are Ready Verizon is holding off as long as possible for the release!!! They are in bed with Motorola and HTC. They want to get as many sales as possible. All though we have no release date on the web any place. Corporate and store Reps were told November. I wrote what the original poster posted. My prayer is that it is released in the next 2 weeks. The store reps are being trained now with Ice cream sandwich. In my opinion there is no reason to hold it but what my contact said that it is a possibility of a December released when I talked to him. After I went to the Verizon Store yesterday to check out the RazR. It was told to me by a store Rep that I know that it is a strong possibility that a release could be in December because of a top tier phone release. So it was told to me by 2 different people One in the corporate office who always gave me good info and a store rep in whom has been wrong in the past but has given me some good info who is also waiting for this phone. Verizon will push Motorola and HTC before a Samsung which is sad. Now I hope that there is a Online release like in the past!!! Now a December Release is not in stone. I am just sharing what was told to me...

Has Verizon ever had an online silent release or will this be done by Google?
 
Guys. We all saw what the joint announcements of the Razr and Gnex did to the Razr- it absolutely DESTROYED the Razr buzz initially. They then spent a crapload of ad money since then just getting the buzz back for the release. I was at a mid-size VZ store midday on 11-11 and there was exactly 1 person in the store. As a result, I'd be surprised if they wait too long- Shopping goes full gear after thanksgiving. The 17th-25th just makes sense.

I also understand why people talk about bloatware-but I think it's overstated. VZ stands to make FAR more money signing new people up to 2 year contracts than bloatware revenue. The longer they wait the more typical joes will walk to a competitor and get a S2.

Crossing my fingers it's sooner than later.
 
Seems the delay may just be rumours. The assumption was made as Amazon UK pushed back their release date to early Dec. There's speculation this is just for sim-free phones, as o2 uk have hinted heavily on their google+ page that it is launching this Thursday.

I really hate to say this, but some people are being rather ignorant if they think Verizon is pulling all the strings FOR THE ENTIRE WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATE. There is a world outside of the USA you know!

I'll be heading down to the o2 shop on my lunch break in my charming English city, come Thursday ;P
 
Lulz have ensued. What a worthless post. "My friend told me that this might happen!!!"

We have actual sources here that have reported no such thing. But then again...someone said it on the internet so it must be true right?!
