Delays receiving texts?

Hey all,

This is my first post and I've done some reading on here and wasn't able to find an answer to this, so I'm hoping you guys/girls can help.

I'm coming from an Iphone4 and I purchased the SGS2 outright. I have adapted the MicroSim from my iphone to work in the Galaxy phone and all of the features are functioning except...the text messages are delayed for upwards of 20 mins. I can send messages pretty immediately but don't get them in return for quite some time. On AT&T's site under manage my features my device is shown as the galaxy S2, but the data plan still says iphone. I don't want to mess with anything data wise as I was grandfathered with the unlimited data plan and I don't want to lose it. I guess what I'm asking is - are my messages being delayed because ATT still technically thinks im using an Iphone data plan?

This has nothing to do with the phone; it's an AT&T issue that happens regardless of device. No particular cure or any specific thing that seems to cause it.

Thanks for your response. I do understand that its an ATT issue as the phone seems to be working great. What I am kind of getting at is, am I running into this problem because I'm using the galaxy and ATT's system still technically thinks I'm using the Iphone data plan? I would like to have the ablility to switch between the IP4 and the SGS2, but if I am forced to switch data plans each time just to get messages on time, than it doesn't seem worth it.

My daughter had this problem with her iPhone for about 6 months; then it just went away. She is still using the iPhone. My wife had the problem sporadically with her iPhone; she hasn't had any issues since she switched to an Infuse.

I don't think it would have anything to do with what AT&T calls the data billing plan.
