delete email trash folder?

Am I missing something? I have 9000 + emails in my trash folder.
I would like to "delete all".

There is an option under "more" to "delete all". But when I press it....i get the spinning circle....and nothing gets deleted.

The only way I can see to delete the trash is to select each individual message then hit "delete".

Is this the ONLY way?

Do you think that the email trash folder could be found somewhere in the file system an deleted? Just wondering.....

Til it stopped......didn't delete anything!

I had over 9000 emails in trash. I bit the bullet and deleted a few thousand by hand.
Finally....now when I hit delete all.....it deletes 500 trash emails. then have to do it again....but it's still faster than doing it by hand.
