Help Delete GPS Locations Android 4.1.2

Every time I use Google Maps as a GPS the location is saved to My Places. I have found no way to delete them, the list continues to get longer. Has anyone found a way to resolve this issue with version 4.1.2 in an Android used in the Samsung Galaxy S Relay phone?
