Delete initial google account?

When I first set up my android 2.1 phone (LG Ally) I used a google account for the initial setup that I don't really use. I have since added another google account that I use all the time. However, I can't sync google calendar with the NEW account. Is there a way to delete the first google account without doing a stock reset and losing data? so that I can use the second account as the primary one and sync calendar?

I don't think there is another way. I had a similar run in and had to just reset and start over.

Which Android version you are running, I know on Foryo you can sync contacts and calendar from multiple accounts.
Go to Settings --> Account and Sync --> Select you Google account and check Calendar.
You can also delete an account from there as well.

I'm running android 2.1, and there is no option to sync with a calendar in the second google account. Also, I can't delete the initial google account from the settings menu.
