Delete message issue with Handcent

[jam-bro]

When I delete a msg from Handcent it also deletes it from the stock Messages app. Is there a way to delete messages from Handcent but not on the stock message app?

They're both pulling messages from the same source, so I'm guessing no.

Handcent is basically an overlay.

There are TONS of sms backup programs available on the market.

Why not just keep them in handcent if you don't want to get rid of them? Wouldn't it be easier to just do that?
